Wilson Bothwell Watson

Wilson Bothwell Watson, 84, of Reisterstown, MD, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023, at Roland Park Place in Baltimore, MD.  Born on November 25, 1938, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late George Bothwell Watson and Gladys Witte Watson.  He was the beloved husband of almost 32 years to Lynnda Tomorie Watson.

Wilson graduated from Washington College in Chestertown, MD, Class of 1960. He was a member of the Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity.  He graduated with 3 Master's degrees: 1 from Morgan State University, and 2 from Johns Hopkins University. He worked for Baltimore County Public Schools for 5 years as an English teacher, he also worked at Charlotte Hall Military Academy. Wilson then moved on to work for CCBC as an English professor for 35 years, where he was the head of the English department until retirement.  Years ago, he was a sportscaster for the Catonsville Community College TV Station with his best friend, Gary Keedy.

He loved traveling with his wife, especially to Saint John in the Virgin Islands, and to their time share in Florida.  He enjoyed snorkeling, reading, and watching and attending Ravens and Penn State football games. Wilson liked spending time with his 2 cats, Tribble, and Merlin. Wilson was also highly educated on World War II and would give lectures on the subject.

Surviving him in addition to his wife are children: Rebecca Wood and husband Stanley, David Watson and wife Marie, and Susan Beard and husband Dale.  He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, June 17, from 10:30 am until the start of the memorial service at 11:30 am, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117.
