Winifred G. Lynde

Winifred G. Lynde, 94, of Owings Mills, MD, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at Stella Maris in Lutherville-Timonium, MD. Born on April 2, 1928, in Guilford, CT, she was the daughter of the late George F. Grebey and Selma Osterholm Grebey. Twice married, she was the beloved wife of the late Fairfield F. Lynde, who passed away in 1993, and Henry F. Schwarzschild, who passed away in 2001.

Winifred grew up in Portsmouth, RI, and graduated from Upsala College with a B.A. in education. She moved to Vermont in 1957 with her first husband, Fairfield F. Lynde, after their marriage in 1951. She loved music, playing the piano, oil painting, and quilting. Winifred was a member of various singing groups from Florida to Vermont.

Surviving her are children: Christine S. Lynde and her husband Michael Leberman and Peter G. Lynde and his wife Barbara Lynde, grandchildren: Jesse Hill, Laura Ortiz, and Renee Lynde, great-grandchildren: Jansen Hill and Mirabella Hill, as well as beloved nieces and nephews. She is also survived by the Pamela Schwarzschild Blum family, and the Alan Schwarzschild family.

A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022, from 2-3 pm, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117, where a memorial service will begin at 3 pm.

Interment is private.
